About this campaign

In line with the FEI’s vision to grow the unique and mutually beneficial bond between humans and horses, and to develop equestrian sport globally in a modern, sustainable and structured manner, the FEI is committed to sharing best practices and raising awareness to ensure integrity and an ethical partnership with the horse at all times.
Having seen a rising number of doping cases due to accidental contamination , the FEI developed the campaign – “Outside the box” – to educate and remind individuals entrusted with the care of a horse of the risks and the simple steps/solutions to avoid any inadvertent contamination, but also more generally to ensure a safe environment for their horses.
Knowledge is power and while most FEI horses are fortunate to have the very best care, there are gaps in the community, and through positive reinforcement and engaging campaigns, as well as the participation of influential ambassadors in the community – the FEI is confident these gaps can be filled!
